Michael Hutchinson is an up and coming singer song writer based in the Warrington area. He stepped into the gigging world
on the 14th of October at Hotwired when he brought his unseen talent to the forefront of the Warrington music scene,
since then Michael has played a number of gigs in Warrington, Manchester and Sheffield. Michael plays a fresh brand of alternative pop
with slightly quirky lyrics which talk about anything and everything from lost loves to being insane.
News
- 31/12/05 - Thanks to everyone who came to the last couple of gigs. Hope the people who came to WA1 on thursday had a good
night and enjoyed a slightly different style in my electric set. I wont be given up the acoustic stuff anywhere in the near
future but it was good to try something a bit different. Anyway that's about all the news I have for now, hope you have a
good new year and keep checking back to see what's happening.
- 16/12/05 - There are two gigs planned for the end of December. See Gigs page for details.
- 24/11/05 - New songs added! Follow link from music page.
- 10/11/05 - Just to let you know I have a Manchester gig confirmed. Check Gigs page for details. I am also trying to get another Sheffield gig in before Christmas and a Warrington date either
before Christmas or just after new year so keep checking back.
- 04/11/05 - The Sheffield gig went really well on Monday night. Although there was only a small turn out I feel it was
one of the best sets I have played with more energy and excitment then usual. I think I have found my sound and people are
starting to take me seriously. I feel that I am ready to start pushing to get heard by as many people as possible
and try to get somewhere with my music. There are no gigs as yet but I have made a few contacts so there should be more
dates and other news announced soon.
- 21/10/05 - Ok so my attempt to stop gigging failed. I love it to much. So for one night only I will be playing at the
Harley in Shefffield. I will be playing on the 31st of November and will be doing a few new songs so it would be good
if there were some people to watch. I am hopefully going to be playing in Warrington again some time around
Christmas so watch this space. I will put a few new tracks up when I am home at the end of November so keep checking back.
- 7/09/05 - Just as things are starting to get going its time to say goodbye! The Roadhouse gig was great apart from a few
errors on my account but they didnt really matter, I had a great time and people seemed to enjoy it. I also got a mention
on Oldham fm or something and had an article in the metro which mentioned me. But for now my solo career is over. I am leaving
Warrington on friday to go Grimsby for a year. So I have decided to quit while I am ahead I might be back sometime in
the future in the same form or I might have a band, who knows? keep checking the site as I may update the songs if I have
any new stuff and I will let you know of any other developments. Anyway I just want to say thankyou to all those who have
supported me in anyway, from the girls who broke my heart to the people who came to the gigs, youve all played a
part and I will be forever greatful as writing, recording and performing my music has been one of the greatest adventures
I could have ever have been part of. SO LONG MY FRIENDS.
- 08/08/05 - Things have been a bit quiet round here recently as I spent the last month travelling round Europe with some
mates. I now have the flyers for The Roadhouse gig on the 31st of August. I will put one up in the pictures section so
you can print one out or if you know me just ask for one. If you want anymore info about it just email me.
- 21/06/05 - Just to let you know I have confirmed another gig at the Roadhouse for the 31st August and a reminder about
the Night and Day gig which is looking as if it will be a great night with me and five other acts performing, hope to see
you there. More information will be available soon about the Roadhouse gig but there is a flyer system so if you want to go
let me know and I will send you a flyer when i recieve them and then the venue knows how many people I have brought.
- 01/06/05 - The Roadhouse gig went pretty well, hope to play there again in August sometime. Pictures from the gig
can be seen on the new pictures page. The gig at WA1 ended up not happening do to issues with the venue but I hope to play
there again soon but as yet nothing is confirmed.
- 24/05/05 - Ive just manage to get a gig for tomorrow night at the Roadhouse in Manchester. Atwood were supposed to be
playing but had to drop out so I took their spot. If you want to come I have a free guestlist so let me know and I will get
your name on it. It starts at 8pm and I will be on first.
- 23/05/05 - This is just an update on the demo. It is now looking as though it could be a few weeks before I get chance
to record the demo as the engineer at tuff gong is going away this week and the comes the onslaught of exams. But until
then I have put together an 4 track demo of home recordings, I will bring as many copies as possible to
WA1 on Sunday but if you cant make it or just want a copy sooner send an email to me with your name and address and
I will get one posted to you. mailto:itshutchy@hotmail.com The tracks included are :- I am Michael, This City, Play Guitar, In Love
- 21/05/05 - Just to let you know I now have a myspace page http://www.myspace.com/michaelhutchinson. Please add me as a friend as this will enable me to distribute informations about gigs and anything else that
is happening more easily and will also provide a place to leave feedback etc. In other news I will be playing at the open
mic night at WA1 on Sunday 29th of May. I will be doing a 15-20 minute slot so get down there if you can. And finally
I am hoping to record my demo in the latter half of next week at Tuff Gong studios Warrington, which will be made available
as soon as I have had time to make some copies so get in touch if you want one. mailto:itshutchy@hotmail.com
- 10/04/05 - I played a set at the Night and day last night. I took the opening slot at the very last minute after
a band dropped out. The gig went really well and, even though I hadn't practiced, it was one of my best performances
so far, so with a bit of luck I hope to play there again sometime in the future. Another band that played the night were
called Atwood and they were pretty good so check out their site http://www.atwoodmusic.co.uk.
- 13/03/05 - The gig at WA1 went well except from the no show by Nathan Burton. Will hopefully be playing at some other
venues in Warrington again soon.
